Ottawa, ON, June 23, 2025 — People’s Party of Canada Executive Director, Nathan McMillan, announced today that Maxime Bernier’s leadership was confirmed by party members following a leadership review process.
With 5797 votes cast and a voter participation rate of 32.7%, Mr. Bernier received the support of 79.1% of members, who had to answer Yes or No to the following question: Do you support Maxime Bernier remaining as Leader of the People’s Party of Canada?
The leadership review was conducted online in partnership with third-party firm, Simply Voting. The vote took place between May 20 and June 20. All PPC members with active membership on or before April 28, 2025 (the day of the federal election) were allowed to vote. Official results from Simply Voting are available on their website at https://ppc.simplyvoting.com/voting/guest/elections/261866/results?language=en.
Maxime Bernier commented: “I am satisfied by the leadership review results and happy to know that I still have the support and confidence of PPC members. The results of the last elections were certainly disappointing for all the smaller parties, including the PPC. But the principles and policies that we’ve been defending for seven years, such as ending mass immigration and wokism, a non-interventionist Canada First foreign policy, a radically smaller government that spends and taxes less, and provincial autonomy, are more relevant than ever. I am motivated to continue to fight with our team so that more Canadians support them.”
