Ottawa, ON, November 8, 2021 — The People’s Party of Canada will hold a review by its members of the leadership of its leader and founder, Maxime Bernier, following the 44th Canadian general election.
“In the past three years, the People’s Party has grown from 0% to 5% of the national vote and has overtaken the Green Party, a party thirty-five years our senior, in raw votes and national vote percentage. Our success so far has been impressive in the context of the first-past-the-post electoral system and proof that our ideas resonate with Canadians,” said Bernier. “Greater successes await us, and I want a mandate from our members to make them happen.”
Eligible members of the PPC will vote on whether they agree with Bernier’s leadership from November 12, 2021, to December 3, 2021. SimplyVoting, a third-party firm based in Montreal, will independently conduct voting and provide the results.
Only members who held a valid Party membership on September 20, 2021—the date of the recent federal election—will be permitted to vote on this review.
