Nancy Mercier, a bilingual New Brunswicker from Campbellton, embodies resilience and service, making her a compelling candidate for public office. After a life-altering car accident 30 years ago left her paralyzed, she transformed personal adversity into systemic change, becoming one of Canada’s first to rehabilitate at home with a high-level spinal cord injury. Her advocacy shaped national home healthcare models, including New Brunswick’s Extra-Mural Home Health Care Services, impacting thousands. Beyond healthcare, Nancy’s community ties shine through her decade-long role as an Interfaith minister and grief counsellor, guiding over 400 families with compassion, and her volunteer work teaching Stanford’s Chronic Disease Self-Management Course. Her establishment of a not-for-profit for community fundraising further underscores her deep-rooted commitment to improving local lives.

Nancy’s diverse experience strengthens her candidacy. As Atlantic Regional Coordinator for the People’s Party of Canada and a federal candidate in 2019 and 2021, she championed freedom, responsibility, and fairness, engaging communities on issues like healthcare access and economic challenges. Her business acumen—honed at Pfizer, managing her husband’s construction firm, and securing contracts with Home Depot and NB Housing—equips her to navigate complex systems. Recent research into technocracy and democratic erosion, soon to be shared via a podcast and blog, reflects her proactive leadership. With a proven track record of building solutions in healthcare, business, and community service, Nancy Mercier is poised to deliver results as a determined, community-focused Member of Parliament for Madawaska–Restigouche.
