Robert Bard is a sympathetic person who is passionate about working with a wide range of people to create a common goal. He is responsibility-driven and is not opposed to having difficult discussions about serious matters to come to logical and sound solutions.
Robert Bard was born on 12 June, 1966 in Ottawa, Ontario, and raised by a single mother with two brothers and two sisters. He currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta, with his wife of 29 years and his rescue dog, Toby.
In 1986, Mr. Bard joined the Canadian Armed forces as a private in the lineman trade and progressed through the ranks to Master Warrant Officer until he was selected to commission to his current rank of Major for the 3rd Canadian Divisional Support Group – Signal Squadron, which supports all army communications in the Western area. His career experience includes taskings for installations and maintenance of telecommunication infrastructures as well as antenna structures throughout Canada.

Upon commissioning he held several positions, however his most recent occupation as Deputy Commanding Officer for the 3rd Canadian Divisional Support Group – Signal Squadron, which supported all Army communications in the Western area. During his time in the military, he had the good fortune to participate in taskings that took him across Canada from Labrador to Comox, British Columbia, and North of the 60o parallel. He also deployed to Baden, Germany, to Afghanistan as the Line Chief Foreman for the Canadian Contingency for Operation Athena in 2007, and most recently, as the Signals Officer in Ukraine for Operation Unifier in 2017.
Mr. Bard’s career success has been attributed to his exceptional work ethic and logical thinking, coupled with his wife’s support.
