Hamilton CentreKevin Barber

Kevin Barber came to Hamilton in 1984 to earn a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Mohawk College and has made this city home ever since. The father of two has made a name for himself in the richly textured music industry working as a musician and in the supporting industries. The last 15 years he has operated BOXO Studio from his Cumberland Avenue home, producing a number of highly acclaimed thematic and causation albums as well as being a trend setting force of nature with over 250 episodes of the iconic long-form interview and performance show “Barber Shop Podcast” that featured some of the famous and not-so-famous Canadian and international performing acts. His tireless work to promote the local scene has been recognized and his efforts with Music Therapy at The Mental Health Rights Coalition served to remind many that music is the lifeblood of our city’s arts and culture presence.

Politically, Kevin is a very well spoken, well informed believer in the rights and freedoms currently under attack by the Trudeau government. The censorship and manipulation of information is paramount to getting the message out and the voters to the polls. At 56 years of age, Kevin Barber has the perspective and experience necessary as well as the ear of the people - an every man who is one of them.
