Chrystia Freeland delivers more spending and debt

The PPC Newsletter - April 8, 2022

I’m very concerned about Canada’s economic future.

I fear Millennials and Gen Z Canadians will never have the opportunities that previous generations had.

We just went through two disastrous years.

Our national debt has exploded.

Rising interest rates will inevitably make it more difficult to service this debt burden.

Taxes will have to rise to pay for it.

At the same time, inflation is skyrocketing. The basic necessities of life – housing, food, transportation – are becoming increasingly unaffordable.

And yet, what did our Liberal finance minister announce in her budget yesterday?

More spending. More programs. More deficits. More debt.

Many of these new programs intrude on provincial jurisdictions.

She also announced that immigration will go up to the record level of 450,000 newcomers per year (up from 250,000 under the previous government).

And then she promised billions of dollars in new spending to build houses that have become unaffordable because of mass immigration.

That’s typically Liberal: create a problem, and then throw more money at it.

After Justin Trudeau’s father almost bankrupted us in the 1970s and early 1980s, it took two decades to put our fiscal house in order.

The People’s Party is the only one that has the courage to say we should lower immigration to sustainable levels and abolish all these new programs.

Please help us spread this message of fiscal sanity with a $5 donation today.

Thanks a lot for your support,
-Max
