DEFUND THE CANADIAN ANTI-HATE NETWORK

A BOMBSHELL report unveiled by investigative journalists Caryma Sa’d and Elisa Hategan has exposed massive incompetence on the part of Canadian governments, media, and law enforcement all revolving around the Canadian Anti-Hate Network (“CAHN”).

This report — based on government documents obtained through a Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (“FOIPOP”) request pertaining to Podcaster Jeremy MacKenzie and his online community known as Diagolon — has confirmed what many of us have suspected for many years: That CAHN is a so-called arm’s length organization whose role is to launder and legitimize smears against figures and organizations that the government views as dissident or who oppose the government narrative.

Here’s how it works:

STEP 1
TARGET

CAHN writes a report filled with smears and hyperbole labeling an individual or organization as racist, transphobic, neo-nazi, white supremacist, etc.

STEP 2
AMPLIFY

Mainstream media write articles on CAHN reports giving them larger reach

STEP 3
PARROT

Government officials parrot these accusations citing CAHN “experts”

STEP 4
DEFER

When asked for comment by the media, government officials defer to law enforcement;

STEP 5
MANUFACTURE

Law enforcement, having conducted investigations that did not confirm these biases, compiles reports based on “open source materials”, in this case mainstream media and CAHN articles.

There is no legitimate evidence, just a vague appeal to authority based on CAHN’s status as “experts”.

CAHN is a nonprofit organization that describes itself as “independent” but has received massive funds from the current Liberal government. In 2022 CAHN received $268,400 to launch an “anti-hate toolkit for Canadian schools”, and may have received additional grants under the Anti-Racism Action Program.

CAHN’s connections with the Liberal Party go further than financial. CAHN Chair, Bernie Farber, was appointed by Trudeau to an “online safety panel”, and even ran (unsuccessfully) as a candidate for the provincial Liberal Party in Ontario.

CAHN has not only smeared Jeremy MacKenzie and Diagolon, but Canadian patriots such as James Topp, Josh Alexander, (Billboard) Chris Elston, and of course Maxime Bernier and the People’s Party of Canada.

It is completely unacceptable for government agencies to be funding these baseless smears against Canadians!

Join us in calling for the federal government, and governments at every level, to immediately cease and desist from providing any further grants or contracts to CAHN by signing our petition below.
